Polo Clubs in Florida

Florida hosts polo matches at venues throughout the state during the winter months with several clubs playing summer leagues also. Polo is a great spectator sport and provides plenty of action with fast horse and daring polo players. Fans participate by entering the playing field between chukkers and stomping down the divots left by the horses during the match. See Guide to Polo Video.

The United States Polo Association governs the sport of polo in America and has purchased the former Polo Club International Palm Beach. The facility was renamed the National Polo Center Wellington and additonal polo events have been added to the traditional winter polo season at Wellington.

National Polo Center - Wellington

The International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington, Florida has been acquired by the United States Polo Association and renamed the National Polo Center. Preliminary indications are that the Sunday high goal polo played in the past will continue as well as additional lower level polo matches. The facility to receive some upgrades as well as some new additions.

The National Polo Center will also be the new headquarters of the United States Polo Association and is considered one of the premier polo facilities in the world.

Grand Champions Polo Club and Santa Rita Polo Farm

Grand Champions Polo Club and Santa Rita Polo Farm is the largest and most unique private 100-acre polo facility in Wellington with 120 stalls in five self-contained barns, exercise track, five climate-controlled tack rooms, vet room, staff quarters, guest house and polo fields with state-of-the-art underground irrigation and stick-and-ball fields.

The Polo School, a 501c3 organization and stand-alone USPA club, is dedicated to teaching polo to all ages, particularly grass roots youth. Its' mission is to provide individuals opportunities in polo at every economic and ability level. Scholarships are available.

Flying Cow Polo Club Wellington

Polo for all types of players- from amateur all the way up to pros. Flying Cow offers on-site grass and arena practices 3 times a week throughout the season as well as kids practices, coaching chukkers and pro-am tournaments.

The Club offers miles of trails along canals and the state preserve. In addition to the polo arena, the club has a boarded grass polo field and a well maintained exercise track and riding area. Flying Cow Polo Club is a USPA recognized club and have a USPA Certified Polo Instructor on site for lessons.

Ocala Polo Club at Florida Horse Park

The Ocala Polo Club plays matches every Sunday at 1.00 pm during the winter season November - March and on Saturdays at 6.00 pm during the summer months, June - September. A women's polo league also plays during the summer months. Bring your picnic basket and enjoy the food and camaraderie of the traditional tailgate parties each week at Florida Horse Park.

The Villages Polo Club

Located one hour north of Orlando and thirty minutes south of Ocala, the Villages Polo Club's 250 acre polo facility offers visitors a chance to experience the exciting world of polo. Our competitive, 6-12 goal polo spans over two full seasons: the spring, running March through May, and fall, running late September through November.

The Villages is a huge retirement community in the north central part of Florida. Polo has been a mainstay of the Villages' Sundays for many years. With its fast pace and daring play, polo has become a crowd favorite among residents who often combine the outing with a pre-match tailgate party.

Port Mayaca Polo Club

The Port Mayaca Community was founded in the mindset of bringing polo players together to share in the enjoyment and camaraderie of the polo lifestyle.

Spectators are welcome at all Port Mayaca Polo matches which are free except for the Molly's House Charity Match. Palm City Polo

Palm City Polo Club is an inclusive and welcoming club for everyone interested in polo. Whether you want to compete, take lessons, or experience polo from the sidelines, Palm City Polo welcomes you. Palm City Polo offers an environment where novice to high-goal players compete in a relaxed atmosphere with all the amenities of a safe full-service polo training facility.

Instruction at all levels, from beginners to seasoned players. Learn to play on a string of quality polo ponies. Our qualified instructors will take you from the custom-built hitting cage to the saddle in a safe and friendly environment.

Sarasota Polo Club

Spanning 130 manicured acres, the Sarasota Polo Club world-class facilities include: 45 private equestrian estates, 7 Bermuda grass polo fields, a regulation-sized polo arena, a half-mile all-weather training track, ball fields, riding trails, on-site stabling for up to 300 horses, an on-site veterinary clinic, a members clubhouse, and a midfield polo pavilion.

Sunday Polo matches are open to the public every Sunday at 1.00 pm December through April. Gates open at 10am. The Sarasota Polo Club is one of the largest, most dedicated and enthusiastic polo communities in the world. An estimated 50,000 enthusiastic polo spectators will be on hand during our polo season.
