Established in April of 2008, Darlene created a rescue organization that not only worked with local law enforcement and countless other rescue organizations in seizures and surrenders, but one that could help educate owners on how to properly care for their animals and hopefully avoid unlawful neglect. Darlene also wanted to be able to take in horses that were at risk due to hardship of their owners, almost eerily forecasting the current state of our economy and the rapidly increasing number of abandoned pets.

Bruce’s Field is a first rate equestrian facility located at Aiken Horse Park, in Aiken, SC. There are five all weather rings and two schooling arenas all featuring GGT Footing, 224 permanent stalls, space for additional temporary stabling, and an administrative building housing the Foundation office with access to permanent restrooms. Sitting upon sixty-six acres of grass field, the Horse Park enjoys an open and spacious atmosphere.
Show jumping, dressage shows, and eventing are held throughout the year. The Aiken Charity Horse Show held each May is a defining equestrian event in the South.
